For new leaders and mid-managers, Levels 3 and 5 CMI Courses are more appropriate as they focus on developing core management skills such as managing resources, recruitment, and information management.
The CMI Project Management courses are aimed at practising or aspiring managers who manage projects and are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner.

L3 Award or L5 Certificate?
Awards are the shortest and most concise qualifications consisting of one unit and typically take between one and two months to complete. The CMI Level 3 Award in Project Management is suitable for First Time Leaders, Supervisors and Project Managers to build a foundation for career progression with an introduction to project management.
Certificates provide a broad base of knowledge and skills consisting of two units and typically take between two and four months to complete. The CMI Level 5 Certificate in Project Management is a more in-depth course exploring project management methods to successfully manage projects.
